The Federal Communications Commission announced Friday that it has given SpaceX approval to launch another 7,500 of its second technology Starlink satellites, for a complete of 15,000 satellites worldwide.

Beyond merely permitting SpaceX to launch more satellites and increase its high-speed web coverage, the FCC says its determination also means Starlink satellites can function across 5 frequencies and to present direct-to-cell connectivity exterior the United States, together with supplemental coverage in the U.S.
