Rak-Sakyi ‘actually attention-grabbing’ – Swans Boss Matos

Swansea City Head Coach Vitor Matos has described Jesurun Rak-Sakyi as “really interesting” after the Swans had been linked with a January transfer for the Crystal Palace winger.

On Friday the Swans confirmed the arrival of former Palace defender Joel Ward on a brief-time period deal until the end of the season, their first signing of the January window.

Matos stopped quick on confirming if there was any agency curiosity from the club in signing the 23-yr-outdated before the end of the month, however said the participant “has a lot of things we like”.

He said, “Rak-Sakyi is a good player of course.

“He’s somebody that had the impression last season with Sheffield United, with Charlton before as effectively, so in fact he is somebody actually attention-grabbing.

“But yeah, he’s one of the names that we keep seeing and monitoring, let’s see what will be the next.”

Rak-Sakyi was on mortgage at Sheffield United last season and is at the moment playing in Turkey at Çaykur Rizespor, the place he is been on mortgage since the start of the season.

“We are looking to a lot of players at the moment if we believe that’s the right profile to have in the squad,” Matos added.

“Rak-Sakyi has a lot of things we like, that’s good, but of course it’s a rumour at the moment so it’s nothing that I can confirm.”

Matos has also performed down the prospect of any first-team gamers leaving the club this month.

With summer season signing Adam Idah dominated out for the next three months with an injury, the Portuguese does wish to herald more reinforcements.

“Same I said before, January market is a tricky one, a special one,” Matos said.

“We need to see what’s available, what we can do as well as a club, what fits and improves the squad in terms of possibilities.

“Every day is a new day when it comes to options, every time we really feel that we’ve got what we wish, we are going to announce it.”
