Prince’s Spotify Streams Double Following ‘Stranger Things’ Finale

Prince is seeing a big Spotify streaming enhance in his catalog because of key syncs in the sequence finale of “Stranger Things.”

Since the episode debuted on New Year’s Eve, “Purple Rain” has seen a 243 % improve in Spotify global streams and a 577 % surge in global Gen-Z streams particularly, Variety can completely reveal. “When Doves Cry” also noticed a 200 % enhance in global streams, in addition to a 128 % improve in Gen Z streams. Overall streams of Prince‘s catalog have climbed 190 %, with an 88 % uptick in Gen Z streams.

“When Doves Cry” and “Purple Rain” have been featured at pivotal moments in the finale. When the “Stranger Things” heroes set the explosives to destroy the Upside Down for as soon as and for all, they placed on Side Two of “Purple Rain,” which begins with “When Doves Cry” and ends with the title monitor.
