Fellow Google co-founder joins Larry Page in cutting California ties

Sergey Brin is pulling again from California, becoming a member of Google co-founder Larry Page in paring down ties to the state as billionaires quietly reposition ahead of a proposed wealth tax concentrating on the ultra-rich.

An entity linked to Brin terminated or moved 15 California restricted legal responsibility corporations that oversee some of his enterprise pursuits and investments out of the state 10 days before Christmas, according to paperwork reviewed by The New York Times.

Seven of those 15 entities, including those that seem to handle one in all Brin’s superyachts and his curiosity in a non-public air terminal at San Jose’s worldwide airport, have been transformed into Nevada corporations, according to the Times.

Brin’s pullback follows related steps by Page, whose California footprint has shrunk even more dramatically.
