A boxing fan from Merthyr Tydfil says he plans to fulfil a lifelong dream after successful one million kilos on the National Lottery.

Peter Rogers, 73, described the win as “the biggest victory of his life”, after deciding to purchase a ticket on a whim during his weekly meals store.

Known domestically for his love of boxing, Peter hopes to journey to New York to look at a major fight at the well-known Madison Square Garden area.

He said the “life-changing” win will also enable him and his spouse, Rosa, to purchase a new residence, making life more snug as she struggles with poor health.
