ZDF Studios Sells 1,200 Hours of Drama to Hungary’s TV2 Group 

ZDF Studios has closed a multi-year deal to provide Hungary’s TV2 Group on more than 1,200 hours of drama, with free TV, pay TV and VOD rights for Hungary that permit the broadcaster to run the bundle across its linear channels and streaming companies.

The bundle leans into high-recognition German manufacturers suited to weekday stripping, themed scheduling and on-demand stacking —  a quantity play aimed toward holding schedules stuffed with confirmed titles.

The slate spans library classics, long-running TV film collections and up to date procedural drama from the ZDF Studios catalog. Headline titles embody evergreen titles “The Black Forest Clinic” and “Derrick,” alongside romantic TV film labels “Rosamunde Pilcher,” “Inga Lindström,” “Spring Fever,” “Lena Lorenz” and “Katie Fforde.”

TV2 is also taking household titles with an animal-led hook, including “Our Charly” and “Hello Robbie,” plus crime and adventure sequence such as “SOKO Wien” and “Alpine Rescue.” Medical drama is included as properly, with “Mountain Medic” and “Dr. Nice.”

Mirela Nastase, director of drama at ZDF Studios, said the settlement strengthens the corporations’ long-standing partnership and combines “some of our most successful and beloved productions,” including that she expects Hungarian audiences to embrace the titles “with the same enthusiasm they receive worldwide.”

TV2 Group chief content officer Gábor Fischer said high-quality drama is central to the group’s viewers proposition and that the ZDF Studios bundle will “significantly enrich” TV2’s content providing “across all platforms” because it brings established sequence manufacturers to viewers nationwide.
