Wawa recalls 4 drink products over undeclared allergen

Convenience retailer chain Wawa is recalling sure company-branded drinks on account of an undeclared milk allergen.

The recall impacts 16-ounce bottles of Wawa Iced Tea Lemon, Wawa Iced Tea Diet Lemon, Wawa Diet Lemonade and Wawa Fruit Punch. All 4 drinks are produced by the Wawa Beverage Company.

Wawa said in a press release that the products are now not being offered and have been disposed of by affected shops. The recall was initiated after the company “identified and corrected” a short lived gear issue that could have resulted in the presence of an undeclared milk allergen in the drinks.

The chain said people with milk allergic reactions “run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.”

No diseases have been reported thus far in reference to the recall, Wawa said.

The company urges customers who bought the affected gadgets to get rid of them instantly and call the company’s buyer contact heart through electronic mail or telephone; they will request a refund in the type of a Wawa reward card.
