Trump’s White House Slams Bruce Springsteen’s Anti-ICE Song

The Trump administration has issued a response to Bruce Springsteen’s fiery ICE protest music “Streets of Minneapolis,” stating that the White House shouldn’t be targeted on “random songs with irrelevant opinions and inaccurate information.”

White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson issued an announcement to Variety about the music, which Springsteen launched on Wednesday. “The Trump Administration is focused on encouraging state and local Democrats to work with federal law enforcement officers on removing dangerous criminal illegal aliens from their communities — not random songs with irrelevant opinions and inaccurate information,” said Jackson. “The media should cover how Democrats have refused to work with the Administration, and instead, opted to provide sanctuary for these criminal illegals.”

Springsteen put out “Minneapolis” on Wednesday in response to what he called “the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis.” He shared that he wrote the music on Saturday and recorded it on Tuesday. “It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good. Stay free, Bruce Springsteen,” he said.

Just this morning, Springsteen launched a lyric video for the protest music in an impassioned indictment of the Trump administration’s presence in the Minnesota metropolis that has resulted in the deaths of two people. The clip exhibits Springsteen recording the music amid disturbing footage from ICE’s clashes with demonstrators in the metropolis.
