Sex toy maker Tenga admits hacker stole customer

X-rated equipment maker Tenga informed prospects earlier this month of a data breach that seemingly included their names, e mail addresses and past order particulars, TechCrunch has reported.

“An unauthorized party gained access to the professional email account of one of our employees,” Tenga Store USA wrote in the memo.

A spokesperson for the Japanese company, which predominantly carries toys designed for males, told TechCrunch that “approximately 600 people” in the US have been focused.

Alongside prospects’ private particulars and correspondence with the company, the cybercrook reportedly also despatched spam emails to prospects through the hacked worker’s e mail tackle. They requested prospects to be vigilant and ignore any suspicious emails coming from that company contact.

Out of an abundance of warning, Tenga urged prospects to alter their passwords despite ostensibly being excluded from the hack.

Meanwhile, the Tokyo-based model told TechCrunch they’d also reset the hacked worker’s passwords and enabled multi-factor authentication protocol “across our systems,” they wrote.

Founded in 2005, Tenga claims to have shipped over 162 million intercourse toys and grownup merchandise globally.
