SEC Women’s Basketball Standings: Where is LSU after South Carolina

LSU women’s basketball misplaced its only game of the week. It fell to South Carolina 79-72 Saturday inside the PMAC. The Tigers are now 8-4 in SEC play with 4 games remaining on the convention slate.

Following the loss to the Gamecocks, LSU ranks fifth in the SEC standings. South Carolina stays alone atop the standings with an 11-1 file. Head coach Dawn Staley’s team is on a six-game win streak.

Sunday was an eventful day within the SEC. Texas beat Tennessee on Sunday, and the Longhorns now sit alone in third place, one game ahead of the Volunteers. In a stunning upset, Georgia downed Vanderbilt. The Commodores still sit second in the SEC, however Vandy is 10-3 on the yr and has little probability at the common season convention title now.

Georgia strikes to 6-6 in the SEC and 20-6 on the yr with the win.

LSU heads to Oxford on Thursday to face Ole Miss in another ranked matchup. The Rebels are sixth in the SEC at 7-4, proper behind the Tigers. The Tigers head again to Baton Rouge for a day tipoff against Missouri on Sunday.
