Mary Carillo Will Replace Savannah Guthrie at NBC’s Winter Olympics

Sports veteran Mary Carillo will take up co-hosting duties for coverage of the Winter Olympics‘ opening ceremonies, NBC Sports announced Wednesday, changing Savannah Guthrie, who is concentrated on the abduction of her mom, Nancy.

Carillo, who will probably be working her 17^th Olympic Games, will be a part of Terry Gannon, who had beforehand been announced as a co-host.

“Our hearts go out to Savannah and the entire Guthrie family. They continue to have our full support,” said Molly Solomon, govt producer and president, NBC Olympics Production, in a press release. “We are fortunate to have a deep bench of talented commentators who will step in and fill these roles. Mary is one of the most experienced Olympic commentators ever and a master storyteller. She and Terry will lead the American audience through one of the world’s greatest global moments.”

It will mark the first Olympics in current reminiscence that didn’t have a big presence of anchors from NBC’s “Today” program. Craig Melvin, Guthrie’s “Today” co-anchor, is anticipated to stay stateside for duties tied to the morning present.
