Hamilton Township’s Alexis Wooten is OSU Wexner Girls Athlete of the…


Hamilton Township basketball participant Alexis Wooten was chosen the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Girls Athlete of the Week for Jan. 12-18.

In three games, Wooten averaged: 26.3 factors, 6.7 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 4.7 steals. She also scored her 1,000th profession point against Walnut Ridge.

Wooten acquired 97.6% of the vote and was adopted by Licking Heights basketball participant Layla Booth.

In two games, Booth had 37 factors, 18 rebounds and 6 steals. She shot 50% from the 3-point line and 84% from the foul line.

The Athlete of the Week voting acknowledges athletes across all sports activities.

Nominations are due Monday mornings for competitions that befell the earlier week. The boys ballot is live until 4 p.m. Fridays. The women ballot is live until 4 p.m. Saturdays.

Once athletes win during the common season, they don’t seem to be eligible to be again on the poll until the postseason. Athletes who haven’t been a recipient of one of the weekly awards could be nominated more than as soon as.
