Former Jets OC Nathaniel Hackett is back in the AFC East


The New York Jets employed former Denver Broncos head coach Nathaniel Hackett as their offensive coordinator in 2023. The thought was to appease incoming quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who beforehand labored with Hackett in Green Bay with the Packers.

Rodgers returned in 2024 with Hackett as his coordinator. Hackett’s offense still did not meet expectations. Hackett spent the 2025 season back in Green Bay as a “defensive analyst” for the Packers. Well, he is back teaching in the AFC East division.

Hackett has been employed by new Miami Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley as the quarterbacks place coach, according to ESPN’s Dan Graziano:

Hackett and Hafley had been together on the Packers’ workers this past season. They technically labored straight together, with Hafley as the defensive coordinator, and Hackett serving in a defensive analyst function. The current relationship helped.

Hackett inherits a tough project in Miami as the quarterbacks coach. The Dolphins might have a new quarterback after benching Tua Tagovailoa in 2025.

Jets followers aren’t scared to see Hackett back teaching in the division.
