FinTech Australia Welcomes Productivity Commission’s Call for Universal Open Banking


FinTech Australia has welcomed the release of the Productivity Commission’s final inquiry report on harnessing data and digital technology, which estimates that an efficient Consumer Data Right (CDR) regime may enhance Australia’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by as much as $10billion per 12 months.

Removing friction for SMEs

The report also recommends sensible reforms to take away friction for Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) making an attempt to utilise the CDR. Currently, enterprise homeowners often face “inconsistent, paper-heavy processes,” including necessities for moist signatures and bodily department visits to nominate nominated representatives.
