Carlos Ponce Joins ‘Hurricane Seasons’ With Justina Machado, Aida Rodriguez

Carlos Ponce has joined the solid of the upcoming indie dramedy “Hurricane Seasons,” which is presently in post-production after wrapping filming in New York and Puerto Rico.

Ponce joins the largely Latino solid of Tony-nominated actress Justina Machado (“One Day at a Time,” “Matlock,” “Pulse”); comic Aida Rodriguez; Alycia Pascual Peña (“Bel-Air,” “Saved By the Bell”); Elvis Nolasco (“Godfather of Harlem”); and Jerry Minor (“Abbott Elementary”).

Directed by Nicole Gomez Fisher (“Sleeping with the Fishes,” “Good Egg”) with a script from Xavier Ortiz, the movie takes place in the aftermath of a hurricane, as a Brooklyn artist (Rodriguez) and her daughter (Pascual-Peña) embark on a last-wish street journey across Puerto Rico with their terminally sick matriarch – only to uncover deep household secrets and techniques and the adventurous aspect of the “abuela” everybody thought they knew.

Ponce performs Ivan, the love curiosity and previous flame of Rodriguez’s character.

Producers on the project embody Gomez Fisher, Ortiz, Rodriguez, Anthony James Faure and Nadia Barbarossa. 

Originally from Santurce, Puerto Rico, Ponce is best identified for his roles in movie and tv, including, “Couples Retreat,” Murder Mystery 2,” “Julie & the Phantoms,” “7th Heaven” and “Beverly Hills, 90210,” in addition to for lending his voice for hit movies like “Rio” and “Ice Age: Collision Course.” He was most not too long ago seen on “Velvet: El Nuevo Imperio,” a Telemundo drama sequence, the place he performed Esteban Márquez.
