Australia says it may go after app shops, search engines in AI age

Australia’s web regulator said it may push search engines and app shops to dam artificial intelligence companies that fail to confirm person ages after a Reuters review discovered more than half had not made public any steps to conform by a deadline next week.

“It feels as though … we’re beta testing all of these things for these companies and they’re trying to see how far society is willing to be pushed,” she said.
