Ariana Grande, Jonathan Bailey Tease Sunday in the Park Revival

Last month, Deadline reported that Grande and Bailey have been eyeing a revival of “Sunday in the Park With George,” the last major manufacturing of which was in 2017 on Broadway with Jake Gyllenhaal and Annaleigh Ashford. The Tony- and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical first opened in 1984, starring Mandy Patinkin and Bernadette Peters, and is cut up into two acts with the same forged playing different characters. The first facilities round George, a fictionalized version of Seurat who’s immersed in portray his masterpiece with assist from his muse Dot. The second focuses on George’s great-grandson (also named George), a up to date artist who invitations his grandmother Marie to assist him current his latest work.

According to Deadline, the revival is ready to open in 2027 at London’s Barbican Theatre, however no official announcement has been made yet. The Barbican didn’t instantly reply to Variety‘s request for remark.

Grande and Bailey not too long ago shared the big display screen in Jon M. Chu’s two “Wicked” films as Glinda and Fiyero, respectively. In a latest interview with Variety, Grande teased that she had a really thrilling announcement coming soon. Could this be it?

“I can’t say much yet, but it’s something that inspires me deeply. It contains multitudes,” Grande said. “I promise I’ll DM you the day it’s announced.”
