Anne Hathaway Among Film Celebrities Attending Valentino Funeral

Anne Hathaway, Elizabeth Hurley, Tom Ford, Anna Wintour, and Donatella Versace are among global movie and trend celebrities that attended the funeral on Friday of beloved designer Valentino Garavani, who died aged 93 at his Rome residence Monday.

Valentino, as the iconic trend mogul was identified, appeared as himself in the hit 2006 movie “The Devil Wears Prada” alongside Hathaway, who made the trek to Rome to pay her final salute accompanied by husband Adam Schulman. The funeral service was held in Rome’s central Basilica di Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri church.

Alessandro Michele, who’s the current inventive director at Valentino, was also seen at the ceremony, as was Pierpaolo Piccioli, who led the Valentino model from 2008 until 2024. Following his retirement in January 2008, a feature-length documentary directed by Matt Tyrnauer about Valentino’s profession and life, titled “Valentino: The Last Emperor,” premiered at the Venice Film Festival.

In past days hundreds of mourners lined as much as  honor the “last emperor” at the headquarters of the Valentino basis in Rome the place his coffin was adorned with one crimson rose surrounded by white flowers.

Rome Mayor Roberto Gualtieri hailed Valentino as considered one of “Italy’s most luminous and beloved figures,” as tributes poured in from Sophia Loren, Gwyneth Paltrow, Cindy Crawford and Colman Domingo, to call a few.

Over the years, Valentino has designed customized wedding ceremony clothes for Hathaway, Jennifer Lopez, Gwyneth Paltrow, Courteney Cox and Nicola Peltz Beckham, and continues to be a red-carpet favourite of stars like Julia Roberts, Cate Blanchett, Florence Pugh, Zendaya, Dakota Johnson and Elle Fanning.
